Neighbors in the Park

Join your neighbors for relaxed, drop-in gatherings all summer long at Alamo Placita Park. Held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:00–7:00 PM, Neighbors in the Park is all about spending time outside, meeting new people, and enjoying the simple rhythms of summer in Denver.

Discovery Walk at Alamo Placita

Denver Public Library sponsors a wide range of community events, including its popular Discovery Walk series. As part of one of these walks, local historian Patrick was invited to share the story of Alamo Placita Park with participants.

Drawing on extensive research, Patrick led an engaging, hour-long talk that traced the park’s history back to the late 1800s. From its early development to the neighborhood we know today, he brought the past to life with rich detail and insight.

Participants came away with a deeper appreciation for the park and its place in the history of Denver.

Neighborhood Cleanups

Do you want to help reduce litter and keep the neighborhood clean? We have all the supplies—we just need volunteers to help coordinate and execute trash pickups. If you are interested in hanging out at the “checkin” table to help direct people, setting up / tearing down, creating flyers, organizing pickup days, or just helping pick up trash, we want to hear from you. Contact us at president@alamoplacita.org or 847-609-6147.
