Reasons YOU Should Serve on the APNA Board of Directors:
Serving on the Board of Directors may seem like a daunting task. And while it’s true that the position comes with a lot of responsibility and requires time and effort, it can also be very rewarding!
Here are just a few of the many reasons to consider joining your association’s board of directors:
Community Involvement
If you’ve been wondering how to give back to your neighbors and community, look no further than your Board! As a member, you’ll be able to more effectively voice the needs and wants of your neighbors and fellow members and work to make changes to better the community as a whole. Regular communication with fellow Board members and association members will quickly widen your circle and broaden your influence. Association events, Board meetings, and other community outings will give you the excuse you need to get to know your neighbors and make new friends!
Protect Your Investment
Your home is your castle. Serving on the Board gives you input to help maintain the neighborhood property value and uphold the standard to which you desire to live. Help make decisions that benefit the community as a whole. Board members are encouraged to give input at regular meetings. Joining the Board will give you the platform you need to make your voice, and that of other members heard and affect real change in our neighborhood.
Enhance Your Knowledge
As a Board member, be prepared to become more educated than ever before about your own community. You’ll have the opportunity to become well-versed in what it means to live in a Historic District. Not only will you know the rules, but you’ll also gain a better appreciation for them and how they impact the community! You will also have the opportunity to get more involved in other City of Denver issues that directly affect our neighborhood.
Remember, a successful Board consists of members who sincerely want to make a difference in their community. Seeing firsthand the positive impact your hard work and dedication can have on the quality of life for you and your neighbors may be the most rewarding reason to step up and serve.
